Dan is my 4th instructor I have had. I learned from all of them. They were all good, but I learned more from Dan than all the others combined. He is thorough on safety and also explains stuff with examples so you can relate. He really showed me how to use and handle my gun properly so that I had confidence in using the gun. He is very personable and makes the class enjoyable. He has a great attitude and brings out the best in people. I plan on learning lots more from Dan

“Dan has brought together a tight knit group of highly experienced professionals to develop an education platform that will benefit anybody looking to improve their skills. His bio will give you an idea of what he personally brings to the range, and what knowledge and experience he can share with those fortunate enough to find themselves in one of his courses. Additionally, he incorporates the knowledge and skills of the diverse group of professionals he considers friends and colleagues, be it Special Operation members, active/retired armed forces, law enforcement, SWAT officers, Tactical Medics, Fire, EMS, or Trauma Medical professionals, Dan will do his best to make sure you leave the range more prepared to deal with the most stressful moments life can throw at you.”

From the beginning, Dan Harrington fully inspired my trust. His teaching approach is thorough and skillful. His lessons are never boring, but safety is paramount. He willingly and plainly shares his vast expertise while at the range, through the use of videos, one on ones, or in a group setting, but he is always mindful of everyone’s level in gun handling and he adjusts his pace accordingly. He encourages you, pushes you, challenges you, constructively and respectfully criticizes you, all because he cares and he wants you to become a better, safer shooter. He takes time to demonstrate, he is patient, he communicates distinctly, and he has an awesome, approachable energy. By the end of each lesson, I feel more confident, more knowledgeable, more empowered. He offers to assist you in shopping for a gun if that’s needed, he promptly answers your questions whether in person or through other means of communication, and he puts effort and thought into everything he does. I’m one happy, satisfied student. I 100% recommend him.

I am an active LEO in California with approximately 26+ years of experience, including being assigned to Patrol, Investigations, Gang Task Force, SWAT entry, SWAT sniper, Firearm Range Master/Instructor.  Aside from Law Enforcement training, I have taken other commercial firearms training courses through Travis Haley(Magpul Dynamics), Chris Costa (Magpul Dynamics), Louis Awerbuck (Yavapai Firearms Academy), and Scott Reitz (ITTS).

In September of 2020, I attended Dan Harrington’s “Armed Professional level 2” firearms course in Lincoln, CA. Harrington is motivated, patient, knowledgeable, approachable and professional.  The safe handling of firearms was emphasized throughout the course, including a safety brief at the beginning which consisted of a review of firearm safety rules and a medical safety plan.

All techniques taught and demonstrated were discussed and explained as to “why” specific techniques would benefit and improve a student’s firearm handling.  Whether you are an experienced professional looking to reach the next level or new to the world of firearms, you will benefit from Dan Harrington’s courses and teaching style.  Harrington’s firearm techniques are from his own real-world experiences and years of professional firearms training.

There are a lot of individuals teaching firearm classes with no real world experience.  Finding an instructor that is motivated and can enable you to grow and improve is uncommon.  Take a class and decide for yourself-see you out there!

I'm a retired US Marine, former California police officer, and worked as a diplomatic protection officer for the US Dept. of State. I was also a marksmanship/firearms instructor for 15+ years and currently hold an NRA firearms instructor certification. I've known, trained, and worked with Dan Harrington at a professional level for 14+ years and I don't know anyone who takes firearms training, especially firearms safety, as serious and personal as Mr. Harrington. Dan used his professional training and knowledge to build firearms instruction programs that fit all experience levels. If you want dedicated, focused, and above all, safe, firearms instruction, then signup with Dan Harrington at Harrington Concepts

I had very little experience with firearms and wanted to gain some basics and knowledge after I got my CCW. What I liked most about Dan is that he listened to my concerns and guided me to build my own comfort level. There were no stupid questions! This made me feel as ease and relaxed, which calmed any nerves i had. Don't get me wrong, he will let you know firmly if he feels there is a safety issue. Because of this, I knew he believed in what he teaches and that I felt safe at all times. Top notch professional on every level from beginning to end. Best of all...Dan's a good teacher and person. Looking forward to my next class! Highly recommend!

I am a current Northern California Police Inspector with experience in gang task force and a current SWAT member. I have been training with Dan for the past year. His years of military service and continued training has made him the most knowledgeable firearms trainer I know. He provides some of the safest, most professional, realistic, practical and fun range training I have been a part of.

If you want hard realistic training with no gimmicks and are willing to work hard and earn these skill sets, see Dan Harrington at Harrington Concepts.

Dan is a highly skilled instructor that has the knowledge to instruct as well as the ability to PERFORM.  Dan really knows his stuff, which is further evidenced by his experience, training, and prior background.  Dan is passionate about all things gun related from gun safety and to the student’s ability to effectively and efficiently navigate and survive a potentially life-threatening situation.   Not only this, but Dan also ensures that he makes his classes safe, informative, and most of all fun.  I have many years behind the gun, but Dan brings realistic stressors and scenarios that push me to develop my skills as a Federal law enforcement officer.  Additionally, Dan is also a continuous learner committed to personal development, always looking for opportunities to learn, grow and evolve (pretty rare for an expert).  In Dan's course, he says, "This is a way, not THE way." which is huge in the firearm industry where I've personally been attacked for tactics or fundamentals that I personally use.  This is why you will always walk away from a class with Dan better than you arrived no matter how many times you have taken it before.

I have gone through some training with Dan and gained some great knowledge and experience in just a short amount of time. Dan is very concerned with safety and is very knowledgeable on all aspects of firearms from the top to the bottom. In just a couple of sessions I was able to greatly improve my accuracy and knowledge all around. I come from a hunting background and I honestly thought that I was pretty knowledgeable but found that there was a lot still to learn. Dan is very patient and is able to observe and assess each person to help them gain the knowledge in the area’s they are lacking at all levels. Very pleased with the results after training with Dan and looking forward to future training with him.

Mr. Harrington was very patient with me. I appreciate his adamant emphasis on safety and accountability for each round fired. Beyond that, Mr. Harrington helped improve my accuracy dramatically. He was able to identify multiple things I could adjust that helped me. I found his insight and obvious passion for his craft contagious and extremely helpful. Heartfelt recommend for Harrington Concepts and Mr. Harrington in particular.
